Classic story: Girl moves to New York City to pursue her dreams. Girl gets caught up in the excess and madness of the City’s nightlife. What happens next, however, doesn’t involve a stint in rehab or behavior warranting a boldface in Page Six. Or at least not yet for Ashleigh Luxe.
Although originally from New York, when the vibrant songwriter/vocalist returned to her home state she soon began seeing the City in a new light as she started experiencing it after dark. Many people move to Manhattan to sink their teeth into the Big Apple; in the case of Ashleigh Luxe she opted to sink her heels into the leather banquettes she danced atop night after night while getting lost in the electronic beats of the NYC club scene. Fueled by synth-driven DJ sets, vodka sodas and a curious fascination with the fashion elite & society hipsters, an incredibly inspired Luxe quickly set her sights on setting the world of dance music ablaze with a style all her own.
Growing up, Ashleigh constantly sought out different creative avenues to showcase her multi-faceted personality and energetic flair. Having a penchant for sparkles and spotlight at an early age, Luxe revealed her natural ability to perform with every opportunity set before her. The outspoken little girl, who pirouetted through life loudly humming along with Walkman in hand, soon grew to develop a passion for music and songwriting. Her path to self-discovery as an artist was paved with her involvement in several short-lived all-girl bands as both a vocalist and bassist in addition to her work with notable industry producers and musicians. Exploring different genres of music outside of the pop realm allowed Ashleigh Luxe to expand her catalog of collaborations and develop her skills as an impressive songwriter.
Ashleigh’s decision to make her way back to Manhattan was spurred by the opportunities and outlets for expression that only the City has to offer. Continuing her relentless pursuit to create music with an aggressive attitude punctuated with her own brand of sass, her immersion in the insomniatic New York World of Fashion and Nightlife heavily influenced her message and sound today. Borrowing from her personal accounts as a stylist by day and disco debutante by night, Luxe’s music can be described somewhat as a provocatively raw photo spread à la Terry Richardson set to the tune of an infectious electro hook. Reigning over a smoke-filled dance floor, of course.
The audacious blonde with both the sweetness and grit of a sugar cube will stop at nothing to be heard. Ashleigh Luxe continues to prove to be a prolific lyricist and stand out entertainer and has her starry eyes set on making a name for herself…preferably in bold print.
